Having three fairs in San Francisco each May for the last two years has shown us that there was room for growth in this region of the art market and that San Francisco would support it. The ArtMRKT San Francisco fair is in its second year and it dazzled the visitors again with beautiful works. This years ArtPadSF fair is as fashionable and hip as always. I arrived late for the press briefing, and so ended up touring the exhibition spaces as the benefit party for the SFMoMA SECA Award began. It was not an auspicious start for the fair, since I stayed through the duration of the benefit, because there was not much of a crowd.
